Well I was planning on setting this blog to private viewing only, so that only the people I invited could see it. But it turns out that if you don't have a Google or Gmail account, you have to sign up for one or you won't be able to see the blog after 30 days. I'm not sure that's the best course of action considering many of our family and friends don't have Google or Gmail accounts. I'll think about it for a few days and let you all know. If anyone has an opinion, please let me know.

Just a quick note.....
I am going to set the blog to the "Invitation Only" setting soon. That just means that not everyone will be able to view it, only our friends and family. If I don't have your current email address, please let me know what it is so that I can make sure you'll still be able to view the blog.
Basically how it works (I think) is it will ask you for your email address when you want to view the blog. It will also send you an email when I invite you so that you can view the blog directly that way. It'll keep random people from seeing any of our information and pictures.

The New Kitty
The boys and I decided to get a new kitten last weekend. A few months ago, Nellie, our sweet kitty for almost 19 years, had to be put to sleep. She was getting old and not doing very well. Since then we've wanted to get a new pet. Papa really wants a doggy but because they boys still have a little fear of them, I thought we'd start small with a kitty. This is Molly and she's a little over 2 months old. The boys absolutely love her and have a blast playing around with her. She's very active but loves to be held and cuddled too. At night she likes to go in and hang out with the boys while they fall asleep and she loves laying on Alex's bed. She greets us with a purrrr and rubs against the boys' legs. We decided on Molly because I wanted a kitty named Holly. (after Audrey Hepburn's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's- "Cat" just doesn't seem to work) After talking it over with the boys, Andy said, "How about Molly, like the train." Alex liked it too so Molly it is. Here she is:

We are planning on going to see Santa this week sometime and go downtown to check out the lights as well. The boys are SOOO excited for Christmas. If they had their way, their Christmas lists would be at least a mile long.

Christmas Elves-a little early
Last year I did this funny ElfYourself thing online and the boys got a big kick out of it. So today when I received the reminder email from them, I went and made another one. This year, Alex helped me with all of the pictures. He wanted to have Daddy in it with us, as well as cousin Haydn. So hopefully this will give everyone a good laugh:

Parades, pumpkins and pirates!!
Hello everyone! We hope you all had a great Halloween. Alex called it "The best Halloween ever." Next year I'm sure he'll say that again. But the boys had a great Halloween and loved their costumes.
Here are the most recent pictures of the boys.
We start with our little adventure to the Boo At The Zoo. It was at Hogle Zoo and while it was fun, there were literally THOUSANDS of people there. Chris forwarded me an email that said they had record attendance. It was a little over 23,000 people that showed up that day!! Judging by the lines and the parking, I believe it! But the boys had fun and we may try it again next year, we'll just go earlier. We went trick or treating to a few different posts and got to see lots of fun costumes.
We've noticed lately how much of a Chameleon Alex is. His eyes change color with what he wears, it's really cool!

This is just a funny picture of Alex. Grammy and Poppy sent him these shoes for his birthday. (THANK YOU!!!) He loves them SO much that for the first few days after he got them, he'd put them on as soon as he woke up. They came with a little comic book that he likes to read and for some reason, he put on the goggles while he was reading it the other day. So here he is, in his jammies, with the shoes on and the goggles. I didn't manage to catch him with them over his eyes, but this is still funny.
Here are the boys carving and painting their pumpkins. Alex decided to make his a HULK pumpkin to match his costume and Andy painted his red like "James the train".
Next we have boys up at Auntie La-la's (Lynda's) house, getting ready for the neighborhood Halloween parade. For the past few years, the boys have just watched, this year they really wanted to walk in it.
After the parade and a yummy pumpkin pizza at Lynda and Guy's house, we went to the Halloween party at Grandma Mary and Papa John's ward. Last year we did the trunk-or-treating there and had a great time, so we went there again. Aunt Caitie and her fiancee Rob came in their pirate costumes. Rob was Captain Jack Sparrow and Caitie was a pirate too. They were great costumes and the boys had a great time getting TONS of candy. Poor Andy was getting kind of tired and had a little fever, so any picture I took of him, he looked like this in: (Alex of course thinks these pictures are hysterical.)

We've had a busy few weeks with the boys' birthdays, school and everything else. But Alex is doing really well in preschool still and is still totally loving it. He has a little crush on a girl named Bree in his class. He talks about her all the time and tells me about things that he wants to take for show and tell so she can see. It's very cute. The boys are very excited for the holidays and can't wait to get the Christmas decorations out. I told them we had to wait at least a few weeks before we do that, but we've already started listening to Christmas music. Alex knows all of the words to the Chipmunks' "Christmas Don't Be Late" and Andy really likes "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas". We are already playing them over and over, I'm not sure they'll last for two more months.

Dinosaurs and dressed in the "right" colors!
For my birthday, we went to the dinosaur park in Ogden. Grandma Mindi, Grandma Mary and Papa John came with us and we had a great time! The boys loved looking at the full size dinosaurs, the skeletons and it was really fun for the grown-ups too. The park had started decorating for Halloween, so there were skeletons (Bobs to those of you who are family) everywhere. Andy and Alex kept pointing out the Bobs and Alex was pointing out various body parts. (He has a BIG fascination with human anatomy, we're hoping it'll turn into medical school someday.)
After driving through Ogden and hunting down the dinosaurs, we finally found them and were really surprised by how well the park is set up. My favorite part was the animatronic dinosaurs. They have baby Triceratops that are so cute!

This is a picture of a Mammoth Humerus bone. We thought it was funny because it's the same bone Grandma Mary broke in her arm. Alex keeps telling her "No more bunk beds!" (she fell out of bed and ended up having surgery but is lots better now.)
Just a quick update:
Alex is doing really really well at preschool. He loves his class, has made a few friends and is learning new things every day. He says things to me like "Did you know that black is the darkest color in the world?" He's been writing his name and making lots of fun crafts.
Now that it's starting to cool off a little, I've been trying to get the boys out more. We'll be going to the zoo and park a lot more. Thank heavens for cool weather, that heat was starting to get to all of us.
Alex has his first primary program in church on Sunday. He has one line and has been practicing it pretty often. It's very cute. He's excited for it.
The boys both have birthdays coming up and they are getting VERY excited for Halloween. They keep changing their minds about what they want to be. One day it's Iron Man and Superman, the next day it's Batman and Robin and the next it's garbage trucks. (I'm creative, but not THAT creative.)
A few weekends ago, Chris took the boys on the new train out in Davis County. As they were waiting to board the train, someone from the David County Clipper came up and asked to take their pictures. It was because they were in their cool matching Utah shirts. But here is the picture from the paper. The caption said:
"Dressed in the right colors, Alex Andrew and Chris Reed wait for FrontRunner to go to the U of U game Saturday." They were actually going up to Layton to get a yummy sweet roll. But every Saturday the boys are decked out in red for the games.
