School, Smores, Monkeys and the Utes

Well we are officially getting into fall now and that means it's time for Alex to start preschool. He started this Tuesday and so far is loving it. He goes twice a week for a few hours in the morning. I think it's harder on Andy than it is on Alex. Poor Andy doesn't understand why he can't go have fun like Alex does. But Andy and Mommy have been doing lots of fun things like watching Thomas, playing trains and drawing pictures. It's still hard for me to believe that Alex is old enough to be going to school.

Here are a few pictures we took on his first day with his totally cool Transformers backpack. (Thank you Grammy, Pappi and Auntie Ashlee!)



Alex has been asking me for quite some time if we could make smores. So the other day for an afternoon snack, we made some it the microwave. They didn't turn out quite as well as I'd hoped. But the boys loved them and made quite the mess out of them. Andy didn't eat too much of them but Alex went to town. Here are a few pictures from that exprience. Oh and a special thanks goes out to Aunt Ashlee for teaching Alex about the "wanna see a train wreck?" He does that and the "seefood" trick all the time now. It's pretty funny though. =)







The annual Utah Football Fanfest was a few weekends ago and Chris took the boys to get their footballs signed, flirt with the cheerleaders (the boys both like blondes) and run around on the field. Here are a few pictures from that:

Several years ago for Christmas, we gave Aunt Caitie a big blown up monkey, which is kind of one of those funny inside jokes. We pulled it out the other day to let the boys play with it and they both proceeded to ask for bananas. So they sat down with the monkey and had some bananas:




Next we have a few funny pictures of the boys taken over the past few weeks.
The first two are of the boys in some costumes they like to play in. (for obvious reasons)
The last two are of the boys having some "quiet time". When they are needing some time to just relax and be quiet, they like to lay their blankets out and curl up on the floor to watch a movie. I usually get squished between them, but I love it.





Last but not least, here are a few pictures that Chris had taken of himself and the boys a few weeks ago. Chris' friend did a fantastic job. They turned out SO well. Chris sent me these through emails, so he has the larger prints. I believe he'll also be getting a CD with all of the pictures on them. To the members of my family-I'll be printing some out for all of us. I will also be getting the boys' pictures done in a few months again for Christmas. I had some great ideas for some pictures of them so we'll get on that soon.














For the family-we are planning a small party for the boys in October. It will just be cake and ice cream, nothing too fancy. But we'll send out invitations in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for them.

Oh and a great big huge CONGRATULATIONS to Aunt Caitie and her boyfriend Rob. They got engaged this past week and are going to be getting married in January. Rob is a really nice guy and we like him a lot.

The boys send lots of hugs and kisses to everyone and we love you all!

Popcorn on the moon and milkshakes on the head

So today Alex informed me that he wants to be an astronaut when he grows up. We went and saw "Fly Me To The Moon" over the weekend and he really liked it. Ever since then, he's been doing his moon walking (not Michael Jackson style) and talking about the moon. So I asked him today what he'd do if he were an astronaut. He said "I'd eat popcorn on the moon but not cookies because they'd be too messy."

Just wanted to share that with everyone.

Hi everyone. I apologize for not posting on here for awhile. We've had a lot going on over the past month.

There isn't too much new going on. The boys just returned from a fun weekend in Iowa with Grammy, Poppy, Aunt Ashlee, Auntie Lynda ("La-La") and Uncle Bryan. They went to the Iowa fair and did everything from riding on a tractor, to riding and elephant!! Alex had a shake poured on his head and they both got lots of fun new things from The Reeds. Alex got a Transformers backpack for school and Andy got a cute Thomas bag that he can pull around himself on wheels. It sounds to me like they had a great time. I'll post pictures when I get them from Chris.

Other than that, Mommy has been keeping busy with a lot of her Twilight Mom stuff and we've been trying to stay cool as much as possible. The boys have been having a pretty fun summer but I think we're starting to look forward to the fall when Alex starts preschool and the boys will both celebrate their birthdays. They have already been talking about what they want for a birthday party and what they want to be for Halloween.

Going back a little, on July 24th, we went to Grandma Mary's and Papa Johns house for dinner and Papa John surprised us all with squirt guns. I'm going to try to upload the video of the water fight we had. It was so fun and the boys had a great time trying to soak everyone. Especially Alex. He was going around with two guns and hiding behind things to sneak up on everyone.



This is just a funny video of one of the cute things Andy has been saying. The boys are VERY into Transformers the movie, which I let them watch bits and peices of. In the beginning of the movie, the main character is giving a history on the "All Spark", which is I guess what created the Transformers originally. Andy is basically repeating what Optimus Prime is explaining. He's saying something to the effect of "Before the war began, there was the cube." He of course is saying it funny, but it'll make you laugh. We thought it was funny, so I thought I'd share it:




We took a drive up to Silver Lake with Grandma Mindi a few weeks ago, so here are some pictures from that:

Freckles and feeding the duckies

The boys and I have had a lot of fun over the past few weeks enjoying the sunshine and playing outside as much as we can. The heat is pretty bad sometimes but we tend to go out in the evening hours after dinner mostly and first thing in the morning.
These pictures are just from the past couple of days. The first one is of all of Alex's new freckles. His nose is completely covered by them now.
Then we have the boys being silly with mommy's headbands. They were wearing them backwards and wanted me to take pictures of it.
The rest of the pictures are of the boys playing outside at the park and feeding the ducks at a park near our house. Those ducks were vicious! But they must have been hungry and the boys love to give them bread.
