Popcorn on the moon and milkshakes on the head

So today Alex informed me that he wants to be an astronaut when he grows up. We went and saw "Fly Me To The Moon" over the weekend and he really liked it. Ever since then, he's been doing his moon walking (not Michael Jackson style) and talking about the moon. So I asked him today what he'd do if he were an astronaut. He said "I'd eat popcorn on the moon but not cookies because they'd be too messy."

Just wanted to share that with everyone.

Hi everyone. I apologize for not posting on here for awhile. We've had a lot going on over the past month.

There isn't too much new going on. The boys just returned from a fun weekend in Iowa with Grammy, Poppy, Aunt Ashlee, Auntie Lynda ("La-La") and Uncle Bryan. They went to the Iowa fair and did everything from riding on a tractor, to riding and elephant!! Alex had a shake poured on his head and they both got lots of fun new things from The Reeds. Alex got a Transformers backpack for school and Andy got a cute Thomas bag that he can pull around himself on wheels. It sounds to me like they had a great time. I'll post pictures when I get them from Chris.

Other than that, Mommy has been keeping busy with a lot of her Twilight Mom stuff and we've been trying to stay cool as much as possible. The boys have been having a pretty fun summer but I think we're starting to look forward to the fall when Alex starts preschool and the boys will both celebrate their birthdays. They have already been talking about what they want for a birthday party and what they want to be for Halloween.

Going back a little, on July 24th, we went to Grandma Mary's and Papa Johns house for dinner and Papa John surprised us all with squirt guns. I'm going to try to upload the video of the water fight we had. It was so fun and the boys had a great time trying to soak everyone. Especially Alex. He was going around with two guns and hiding behind things to sneak up on everyone.



This is just a funny video of one of the cute things Andy has been saying. The boys are VERY into Transformers the movie, which I let them watch bits and peices of. In the beginning of the movie, the main character is giving a history on the "All Spark", which is I guess what created the Transformers originally. Andy is basically repeating what Optimus Prime is explaining. He's saying something to the effect of "Before the war began, there was the cube." He of course is saying it funny, but it'll make you laugh. We thought it was funny, so I thought I'd share it:




We took a drive up to Silver Lake with Grandma Mindi a few weeks ago, so here are some pictures from that:

Freckles and feeding the duckies

The boys and I have had a lot of fun over the past few weeks enjoying the sunshine and playing outside as much as we can. The heat is pretty bad sometimes but we tend to go out in the evening hours after dinner mostly and first thing in the morning.
These pictures are just from the past couple of days. The first one is of all of Alex's new freckles. His nose is completely covered by them now.
Then we have the boys being silly with mommy's headbands. They were wearing them backwards and wanted me to take pictures of it.
The rest of the pictures are of the boys playing outside at the park and feeding the ducks at a park near our house. Those ducks were vicious! But they must have been hungry and the boys love to give them bread.

Baseball and enjoying the sunshine!

I've been a little busy lately and haven't had a chance to update this these past few weeks. My apologies! =)

Here is an update with the boys:

We are really happy that it's FINALLY summer but the heat kicked in quick and it is HOT! We have been playing outside when we can and enjoying the sunshine as much as possible.

The boys and I have started attending Grandma Mary and Papa John's ward and we are really liking it. The primary is small, which is perfect for Alex and Andy really likes playing in the nursery because they have Thomas toys. We feel very welcome there and we enjoy spending the time with Grandma Mary and Papa John.

We've also been spending a lot of time with Mommy's new friends from the Twilight Moms. (the online forum I belong to) There are a lot of other Moms with younger children so the boys have both made some new friends. Alex's social issues have gotten SOOO much better because he spent that time in swimming lessons and because he is spending time with so many other younger kids. It's unbelievable how well he is doing and it has been a real blessing. Not only for the kiddos but also for Mommy! We all love having new friends to hang out with who have so much in common with us. We have a lot planned over the next few weeks with the Twilight Moms, so I'll be sure to take pictures and let you all see what we're up to. This week we are headed to the zoo with them all.

We are very excited because also happening this week is Daddy's family reunion. So Grammy, Papi and Aunt Ashlee have come into town and they boys get to play with them. They are both SO excited to see everyone!

A few weekends ago, for Daddy's birthday, Alex and Dad took a quick day trip to San Diego to see the Padres play. They both had a great time and I wanted to share some of the pictures with you all. At the end of the game, Alex got a chance to run the bases, which he LOVES doing. He had to wait in line for awhile before he could do it and had to, let's just say, use the facilities. The poor guy didn't want to miss out on running the bases so he held it. In the pictures of him running, you can see he was just about ready to keep running right to the bathroom.

The last few pictures are of Andy wrapping up his toy train, Percy, "like a baby". It was very cute. He wrapped it up and was carrying it around like that to keep it all "comfy and snuggly". He's such a cute little guy sometimes. =)
